Sailing activities

Our programs for an exciting and unforgettable sailing regatta,
build your event, from boat training to team building on land

For a sailor it is always possible to figure out an alternative and that’s why we can organize adventures and sailing activities taking place on land without losing the thrill of the sailing dimension. We can develop two different formats for the same event, accompanying a corporate regatta with other happenings, team-works or games, on land.

Sailing regattas can be combined with other types of activities, designed to build and strengthen the group, developing synergies, making the team solving a common problem or simply having fun and enjoying together a leisure event.

You can match the regatta with an ashore teamwork like the Cooking Cup, creating an even more attractive program, saving money (two events in one) and offering an excellent alternative to people who don’t like to live the sea experience.

Sailing Challenge organizes successful corporate events with creativity, customizing the program according to customer requests, modulating the standard projects that distinguish our proposes, such as:

  • Official regattas with dedicated race area and Maritime Authority permission
  • Leisure regattas with training buoys, without dedicated race area
  • Long period regattas for 2 or more days, also possible on board overnight
  • Attendance to Italian and international sailing events and regattas (ex. Barcolana)
  • Italian and international viewing of sailing events and regattas (ex. America's Cup, Volvo Ocean Race)
  • Sailing cruises
  • Sailing training or sailing experience (also available with only 1 boat)
  • Cooking Cup on board of sailing boats (to be matched with regattas, cruise and sailing training programs)
  • Sailing on land (sailing-themed team building on land, with ideas such as Quiz with questions about the sailing regatta and the world of sailing, knot or armament competition)
  • Promotional tour with 1 sailing boat
  • Road show with exhibition of small boats inside the most important city squares

The Cooking Cup with the regatta

The kitchen is a place where excellent results can be achieved only with the collaboration and synergy of all the participants. Hence the idea of the Cooking Cup, to help building the team and consolidate the dynamics between the individuals, breaking down any inhibitions, even before the race. You can choose to combine a cooking cup with the sailing regatta, to build from the start two amalgamated and cohesive crews, creating suspense and enthusiasm for the sailing event.

According to the goals set by the client, the Sailing Challenge staff suggests and creates tailored programs, even with overnight stays for guests on board.

Length of the events

  • half day with a minimum of 3 hours
  • 1 day
  • 2 days
  • 2 half-consecutive days for 2 groups alternating one in the morning and one in the afternoon
  • more days

We will be able to design a complete program that can meet all customer needs. The duration of a regatta, as of any activity, is variable and can be calculated according to your needs.

Different type of regattas

The most chosen regatta is a fleet one, windward-leeward course, with more than 2 boats and race course made up of 2 legs between 2 boats vertical to wind direction.

Other regatta types are:

  • Match Race regatta – 1-on-1 challenge between 2 boats with the opportunity to have more matches in case there are more than 2 boats.
  • "Triangle" regatta – boats must circumnavigate inside a triangular area enclosed by 3 buoys.
  • Long period regatta – regatta with departure from one location and arrival in another destination (course length of time to be established)

Lunch is usually organized with box lunches given by the guests' hotel, but it's also possible to preview an on board lunch with high-quality menu or catering proposal.
