On the occasion of the birth of the Trieste Convention Bureau, Promoturismo Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trieste CB chose a sail experience with the vision of the Barcolana 53 aboard a 12-meter catamaran, inviting 10 top managers and owners of the largest Italian MICE and communication agencies.

The classic relational sailing workshops of Sailing Challenge are renewed and change format.
The event reserved for corporate buyers only is renamed Corporate SAILING CHALLENGE eXPerience and after two postponements due to the pandemic situation, it took place at the Argentario peninsula in Porto Ercole from 1 to 3 October 2021 at the A Point Porto Ercole Resort & Spa.

Stimulate the collaboration and the cooperation between 23 managers from the Southern Europe area (Italy, France, Spain, Greece) with the aim of moving together towards a continuous improvement and growth (#wemovetoexcellence).
This is the objective of the meeting reserved for Rexroth's Top Management which was held in Athens in September 2021. The event has seen some classroom moments and an outdoor activity. The sailing regatta was chosen as a means to anchor the concepts of cooperation and the importance of acting as a true team, despite the inevitable cultural differences of the various countries. The regatta, which saw three crews compete, took place in the waters of the Saronic Gulf starting from the Marina of Alimos.
APT SERVIZI EMILIA ROMAGNA ON TOUR

The collaboration for the Emilia-Romagna territorial promotion in the event industry, after 5 years, evolves and turns into a tour with 2 stops: Rome and Milan.
For the sixth edition, the promotional board of the Emilia-Romagna region has chosen the new Sailing Challenge format "THE SAILING REGATTA IN THE HEART OF CITIES" to meet MICE agencies in two of the most important Italian cities.
The sailing regattas took place at the EUR lake in Rome and at the Idroscalo in Milan. Between 30 and 40 participants, in each stage, were engaged in sailing regattas and workshops.

On the occasion of the 25 years of activity, De Santis Assicurazioni, which collaborates with Cattolina Assicurazioni, Aon and Banco Popolare has brought about thirty collaborators, employees and top management between Gaeta and Sperlonga for an event of fun and celebration.
The sailing regatta took place in Gaeta and was characterized by a great balance, confirmed by the “handicap ranking” which saw the three crews enclosed in a few seconds.

First trade fair held in 2021 after the closures due to the pandemic and Sailing Challenge is present offering the sailing regatta for the hosted buyers of the BMT MICE workshop. On the last day of the fair, 32 guests took part in the sailing regatta, departing from the Royal Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia and racing in the sea in front of Castel dell’Ovo. The regatta was met with great enthusiasm - sold out seats! - especially by the participants who had no sailing experience, demonstrating once again that, accompanied by the Sailing Challenge skippers and staff, the regatta is an activity available to everyone.
HCSC – HOTEL CHAINS SAILING CHALLENGE

HCSC - HOTEL CHAINS SAILING CHALLENGE is the format the utilizes the “half” sailing regatta to ensure networking among hotel chains, hotel convention centers, convention bureaus and Italian MICE company and agency buyers.
The event includes the participation of two back-to-back groups, the first arriving Friday afternoon and the second on Saturday afternoon. As soon as the groups arrive, the participants take part in a workshop to get to know the event partners and then a dinner. After the overnight stay, the second day is dedicated to activities: after a briefing, the participants are divided into two groups which alternate between the sailing regatta and on-the-ground team building.
Fun and maximizing relations between buyers and sellers are the main characteristics of this event, which over the years has seen over 70 hotel chains, convention centers and convention bureaus participate, such as: Barcelò - Hotels & Resorts, Forte Village, Firenze Convention Bureau, Hyatt Hotels, JW Marriott Venice, Melia Hotel International, NH Hotel Group, San Clemente Palace Kempinski, SINA Hotels, Starhotels, VoiHotels, UNA Hotels & Resorts and many others.

The event, in addition to the workshop, dinner and overnight stay, includes two important relational activities: the sailing regatta and an on-the-ground team-building which has varied through the years with creative events such as, “Sailing on the ground,” “Emilia Romagna in 3D,” Orienteering and Tours in vintage cars in the Rimini countryside.
Leisure & Business are the key words in this 2-day event that aims to strengthen relationships where MICE agencies and Italian corporate clients get to know and interact with 10/15 professionals from the Emilia Romagna region.
COFIDIS ITALIA
TRIESTE - 12-13 OCTOBER 2019
Second consecutive year participating in the Barcolana for the 2 teams from Cofidis Italia. The company invited its 10 best clients from 2019 from all over Italy to Trieste for them to experience the Barcolana. The starting port, as in 2018, was Portopiccolo, and the guests stayed over at the Falisia Resort & Spa. Saturday training and Sunday active participation in the 51st Barcolana, which had 2,116 boats registered. The regatta was difficult with little wind, but both Cofidis crews completed it with excellent results (770th and 946th in the overall classification).
RENAULT TRUCKS ITALIA
LERICI - 4 OCTOBER 2019
After an important reorganization in 2018, the new Sales and Marketing Director chose Sailing Challenge for this team building of the Renault Trucks commercial area.
The Scuola di Mare Santa Teresa in Lerici (SP) hosted this of group of 16 for 2 days. The first day included classroom activities with some on-the-ground games to break the ice and begin to understand the importance of acting as a team. In the evening, the participants were divided into two teams and challenged each other in a Cooking Cup using the kitchen of the Scuola di Mare. The second day was dedicated to the sailing regatta onboard two 15-meter sailboats. The points made by the winners of each game, Cooking Cup and sailing regatta were used to compile placings and award the participants.
FRIGERIO VIAGGI for PICTET
LA SPEZIA - 05-06 SEPTEMBER 2019
The Frigerio Viaggi agency commissioned this event to Sailing Challenge for its client Pictet, banking group specialized in managing equity and asset management. There were 23 participants between employees and bank directors.
Two days of sailing regatta and sailing experience aboard three sailboats with overnight stay onboard in double cabins. The boats set sail from La Spezia and, after a half day of training and a first sailing regatta, they went towards Portovenere, where the guests used marine taxis to reach Locanda Lorena, an exclusive restaurant on the island of Palmaria.
The stormy night, full of lightning, allowed the guests to rest nonetheless and be ready for a second sailing regatta the next morning.
The goals of the event were mainly teamwork to improve communication among colleagues and working together to lessen favoritisms.
HCSC International
From 2016 to 2019
A MICE sector event in which European event agencies and partners of hotels and Italian event destinations participate, having reached its fourth edition in 2020:
Hotel Chains Sailing Challenge International was created from the HCSC and HVSC format, but is dedicated to the MICE market abroad. The first two editions were organized with the collaboration of the Firenze Convention Bureau, whereas the third and fourth were organized with the support of the Convention Bureau Italia.
In each edition, 40 carefully selected foreign agencies from all over Europe are invited to the event to meet and interact with sellers from hotels, convention centers and Italian convention bureaus.
The format provides for a two and a half day event that includes two dinners, two lunches, two nights’ stay, one afternoon dedicated to a workshop, the only more formal moment, and three relationship-building activities, among which the sailing regatta and other activities that vary from year to year.

MELIA HOTELS INTERNATIONAL

Relational event organized by Melia Hotels International for its clients. Two regatta sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon for a total of 44 guests between companies, Italian MICE agencies and Sales from the Melis Hotels International chain from all over Europe. The event took place at the Melia Genova where, after an evening of introductions with welcome dinner, the guests were divided into 2 groups. The sailing regatta took off from Porto Antico and was a way for the Melia and Genoa to show its potential to the world of events and facilitate relations between clients and service providers.
KARISMA COMMUNICATION
SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE (GE) - 06 JULY 2019
The gulf of Tigullio is the splendid scenery for this event commissioned to Sailing Challenge by Karisma Communication, a communications agency in Milan. Two regattas, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, for 30 top clients of a luxury watch company. They were divided into two groups that alternated between relaxing and the unique sailing regatta experience. The 3 15-meter sailboats were branded with a personalized flag and banner with the company’s logo. The guests enjoyed an overnight stay in the Excelsior Palace Hotel in Rapallo. The beautiful weather and excellent wind conditions excited guests in this sailing adventure, whose only goal was to entertain them.
PEOPLERISE FOR GLS ITALIA
MALCESINE (VR) - 16 APRIL 2019
Sailing experience aboard a 24-meter schooner for this event commissioned by Peoplerise, a training company, for GLS - General Logistics Systems Italy S.p.A., a transport company that offers international goods transport and logistic contracts.
This team building dedicated to GLS Italia top management, 10 participants, was geared toward strengthening the leadership figure within the team, transforming the company image, improving personal contribution within the group and the importance of retrospective as a moment of feedback.
The program foresaw various training sailing activities with roles rotation and short races with the team divided in two by Sailing Challenge, all alternated with debriefing and “classroom” moments done underdeck by Peoplerise.
The task, closely coordinated by Sailing Challenge and Peoplerise, reached the goals set by this team building by sailboat.
HVSC – HOTEL VENUES SAILING CHALLENGE

The Italian meeting industry, after the innovative format of the HCSC, saw the beginning of HVSC, Hotel Venues Sailing Challenge, which has reached its eighth edition since 2012.
The relational format that puts hotels, hotel convention centers, convention bureaus and potential Italian clients, and MICE agencies and companies in contact, is based on a two-day program and includes workshops, a welcome dinner, overnight stay, sailing regatta and on-the-ground team building.
Each edition includes 15/20 participating partners of hotels, hotel convention centers and convention bureaus. 16 participants brought to Trieste by Cofidis Italia. The company, specialized in the consumer credit business, invited its 10 best clients from 2018 from all over Italy to experience the biggest and most popular regatta in the world, the Barcolana.
Guests stayed over at the Falisia Resort & Spa and the sailboats were docked at Portopiccolo, which is just a few kilometers from Trieste and is an exceptional location for company sailing events with an exclusive hotel and a well-equipped marina.
The sailboats chosen for taking part in the Barcolana were two comfortable 14-meters, not exactly regatta boats, but accessible for all, even for those, like most of the guests, who had never been on a sailboat before. The program included a training day on Saturday and participation in the Barcolana on Sunday, its 50th edition. There were 2,689 boats registered that day, which meant the event officially took the Guinness World Record for The Largest Sailing Race. The regatta was captivating, thanks to ideal sailing weather conditions. Rounding the buoys was adrenaline-filled as the boats were packed together due to the large number of participants in the regatta. The placings for both crews were excellent, 488th and 744th, when taking into consideration the large number of participants and the less than top-notch boats.
FRANKE
LERICI - 4-5 OCTOBER 2018
Franke is a leading worldwide supplier of products and ideas for residential kitchens and bathrooms, professional level food service and coffee systems. The event was held at the Scuola di Mare Santa Teresa, set against the splendid scenery of the Gulf of La Spezia. Franke chose Sailing Challenge for a domestic meeting for its sales office bringing both its sales management and its agents to Lerici. One and a half days with meeting, Cooking Cup organized in the Scuola di Mare kitchen, overnight stay and sailing regatta aboard two 7-meter sailboats. Motivating the team and teamwork were the goals of this sailing/culinary team building event. The exclusive location at the Scuola di Mare is ideal for small groups like this one with 11 participants. Additionally, the excellent wind conditions and sunny day allowed everyone to fully enjoy the sailing activity.

SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE - 09 JUNE 2018
A day of sailing regatta with an overnight stay onboard for 49 domestic employees from the multinational Boston Consulting Group, an American consulting company. Spend time together, work as a group and fun were the goals to reach. This event was the reward for team performance goals reached over the preceding year. It was a captivating regatta with 7 sailboats and awards presented at the Covo di Nord Est in Santa Margherita Ligure.
ICT PROMOTION FOR FORD ITALIA
KOS - 20-25 MAY 2018
An event organized over 6 days with 190 participants on the island of Kos in Greece. ICT Promotion commissioned this event to Sailing Challenge for Ford Italia as part of their 2017-2018 incentive campaign reserved for their 900 mechanic shops and client parts production retailers. The 190 participants were divided into 19 teams of 10 people each and they challenged each other in 3 eliminatory regattas that allowed them to establish a classification and determine the best 6 crews, which then had a chance at the final regatta to determine the winner. The winner would then challenge the defender, a crew formed from the Ford Italia management: all in America’s Cup style. The weather on the island at the end of May allowed for 6 ideal days in terms of sun, fresh breeze and calm seas: the perfect conditions for a regatta! The spectacular sea between this Greek island and Turkey was the perfect frame for this fantastic event that was a pleasure for both the participants and the Sailing Challenge skippers.
HSSC – HOTEL SUPPLIERS SAILING CHALLENGE

An event created by Sailing Challenge to ensure networking between Ho.re.ca vendors and directors and managers of hotels and hotel chains.
HSSC - Hotel Suppliers Sailing Challenge is a relational sailing workshop in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector that in 2021 has seen 5 editions with 13 destinations organized all over Italy.

The hotel managers and Ho.Re.Ca. company sellers actively participate together in several sailing regatta sessions and a workshop in a meeting room. The sailing regatta is the way to break down the “barriers” between buyers and sellers, facilitating the formation of strong relationships.
In the past two editions, in 2018 and 2019, HSSC transformed, becoming a “way” to enrich the National Assembly of Federalberghi. Sailing Challenge has therefore become a strategic partner with Federalberghi Nazionale in the organization of their annual National Assembly that involves over 400 hotel managers each year.

ULISSE EVENTS FOR EO MUMBAI
MARINA DI RIPOSTO (CT) - 08 APRIL 2018
The guests of this event in Taormina were CEOs of Indian companies that are part of the EO Mumbai association, comparable to the Italian Confcommercio, and were hosted by the VOI Grand Hotel Atlantis Bay. The event was organized to celebrate the conclusion of the association president’s term. The day of the sailing activity, the 123 participants were accompanied by a transfer to the Marina di Riposto (CT) and were then divided up on 15 sailboats which set sail for an official sailing regatta with a dedicated regatta field and jury boat. At the end of the regatta, the fleet sailed towards Taormina, with the Sicilian coast and Etna framing this exclusive event. The participants then disembarked with the help of the Taormina “boatmen” at the Mazzaro Sea Palace, where lunch and awards were held.
ACEA ENERGIA
PORTO ERCOLE - 07 OCTOBER 2017
Event organized for Acea, multi service agency that handles management and development of networks and services in the water, energy and environmental sectors, to reward winning clients in their fidelity program “Acea con Te.” The objective was to render clients loyal and strengthen relationships with them, have them “spread a good word” and strengthening brand awareness. The chosen destination was Porto Ercole, where guests met and enjoyed lunch. The two sailing regatta sessions were undertaken in two 15-meter sailboats in the waters in front of Porto Ercole with the beach and Feniglia pine forest in the background.
GATTINONI for COFIDIS/SPARKASSE
RIMINI - 16 SEPTEMBER 2017
Event commissioned by Gattinoni for its client Cofidis, which invited its employees from the branches of their partner bank Sparkasse. It was a reward event principally designed for fun and relaxation with goals of team play, teamwork and celebration of the company goals met. Four boats were in the regatta, same number of crews, all dressed in colored tops branded with their company logo.
TEAMSYSTEM
VENICE - 04 JULY 2017
Two days of events in Venice at the Hotel Hilton Molino Stucky where the CEO brought the first and second-tier management into a special context where they could go over the company’s progress together. The event was created to align, bring “onboard,” the leaders on everything that was happening in the company. The main goal was the explanation and sharing of current transitional programs and positioning the company in the near future so that management could then spread everything to the other 1,500 employees. Other goals of the event? The inevitable team play, working on leadership and teamwork. Why did they choose a sailboat? Because it is an accelerator in finding the “right” people, the most recommended roles, people with values… 150 participants were divided into 18 crews and each was named after Italian winds: grecale, levante, libeccio, ghibli, ponente, pampero, shamal, bora, zefiro, alisei, favonio, meltemi, garbino, monsoni, espero, zonda, calima e lodos. The regatta was characterized by light winds which caused palpitations nonetheless in the first two boats and the regatta was very intense among all the boats.
MASTERCARD EUROPE
ARGENTARIO - 14 JUNE 2017
The match race is the formula chosen for the European “Advisors” division of Mastercard. 12 participants from Italy, Turkey, England, France, Germany and Hungary discovered only after arriving at Argentario that they would take part in a sailing regatta. The crews were put onto two identical sailboats, same model, and enjoyed a fantastic regatta, the goals of which were teamwork, working on leadership and strengthening corporate identity.

MARINA DI SCARLINO - 27 MAY 2017 & MARINA DI RIPOSTO - 17 JUNE 2017
Two events with Sailing Challenge in one month for FIP - Formatura Iniezione Polimeri S.p.A. – company in the Aliaxis Group, world leader in the production and distribution of high-quality plastic products for canalizing fluids.
The first event for 50 Italian distributors - owners and marketing partners - was organized in Marina di Scarlino in the Grosseto province with an overnight stay at the Resort Baia Scarlino, an exclusive resort right in Marina di Scarlino. The goal was to entertain but also create loyalty in the guests. The first day there were classroom meetings, dinner, and a sailing briefing at the Yacht Club Punta Ala. The second day was dedicated to the sailing regatta, one session in the morning and one in the afternoon, and following the second regatta were awards for the winners of each regatta and the overall winners. The second event was organized in Sicily in Giardini di Naxos at the Hilton Giardini Naxos. The 110 guests were from all over the world and included entrepreneurs and companies dealing in water treatment and/or water canalization. Like the event in Tuscany, the goal of the sailing event was fun and creating loyalty. After two sailing regatta sessions which took off from Marina di Riposto with 8 sailboats, all branded with Aliaxis flags and banners, the awards were held poolside at the hotel.
MANPOWER GROUP
LOANO (SV) - 26 MAY 2017
Team building organized by the top management of Manpower, a company that carries out and offers strategic solutions for managing human resources. The 10 guests worked onboard the 15-meter boat the evening prior to the sailing activity challenging one another in a Cooking Cup. The participants were divided into 2 teams and prepared the two dishes on the dinner menu. Working in a tight space obligated the teams to collaborate well together and they succeeded in finishing their dishes and serving an excellent dinner. On the morning of the second day, after an overnight stay in a hotel, the guests went back aboard the boat for a sailing experience, which put them to the test with trim maneuvers, tacking, gybing and simulating onboard emergencies.
ANFITHRION DMC FOR ACTELION
LA SPEZIA - 09 MAY 2017
An “outside of the box” event for Sailing Challenge who, commissioned by the Roman agency Anfithrion, gave their client a yacht experience setting sail from La Spezia to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre. The participants were top managers from the Polish pharmaceutical company Actelion. The trip, onboard a 24-meter Ferretti 780 yacht, included lunch, cocktails, and music onboard with stops at Portovenere and disembarking for a visit in Vernazza.
MCM COMUNICAZIONE for CAMPARI
PALERMO - 21 APRIL 2017
An event commissioned by the agency MCM Comunicazione for the German branch of the company from the Campari beverage sector. 103 guests were invited to Palermo to celebrate reaching their production goals. Twelve crews challenged each other in the regatta with 12 to 15-meter boats branded with flags and rail covers with the client’s logo. The boat models chosen for the event were Dufour, Sun Odyssey, Cyclades, Oceanis, Bavaria and Elan with a classification that was compiled with the handicap method. The skippers for this event all spoke English and led the guests to their predetermined goals: “spending time together having fun,” concepts of team sports and teamwork.

The event was the reward for the Eccellenza 2016 competition; the best agents participated based on the performance classification. In order to render the experience even more unique and exclusive, a boat that made Italian sailing history was chosen: Il Moro di Venezia. Only the best can sail on a boat from America’s Cup and that was the “leitmotif” of the event.
The 15 participants, between agents and domestic company management, lived this sailing experience onboard the Il Moro di Venezia with great enthusiasm working together and managing to overcome some slight resistance to taking on the activity outside of the comfort zone.

Event organized for the agency Optima Eventi for its client KPMG, a network of independent companies that offer professional services to other firms. The key words of the event are summed up with “Who are we? Why? How?”, or rather, company identity, company values and expertise: these were the goals underlined during the event. 92 employees were present and stayed at the Hotel Excelsior Rapallo. The boarding port was planned at Santa Margherita Ligure, but following uncertain adverse weather reports, Sailing Challenge agreed with the client to move the sailing activity to the Gulf of La Spezia at no additional cost. The two sailing regatta sessions saw the Orange Flame team win in the morning and the Yellow Fluo team win in the afternoon. The Yellow Fluo team took the final victory home.

An event organized by Opel Italia through the events agency Giumelli. The 18 participants were sales managers of commercial vehicles rewarded for reaching their revenue goals. The reward was a sailing experience onboard the Il Moro di Venezia, the boat that participated in the America’s Cup in 1992 in San Diego (USA). A day of sailing experience aboard a historic vessel with lunch onboard and voyage on the Giudecca Canal to best admire the beauty of the event.

The multinational pharmaceutical company Aurobindo commissioned the event to Sailing Challenge to facilitate acquaintances, trust and integration among employees and agents of the new company team in Italy and create the proper foundations for the development and strengthening of a company poised to grow in their market and become successful. The evident message was “Revival.” The event took place at the Club Village & Hotel Spiaggia Romea in Lido delle Nazioni (FE), a unique location that has a lake next to the hotel, ideal for company events. Three sailing regatta sessions with 6 sailing dinghies (Trident model) that included the participation of all 60 employees present. The Tridents are sailboats that can hold up to 4 people onboard plus the Sailing Challenge skipper and are ideal for guests who have no previous sailing experience because they are very easy to handle.

LA SPEZIA & PORTOVENERE 20-21 JULY 2016
EY, international network of professional services such as managerial consulting, auditing, tax systems, transaction and training, chose Sailing Challenge to celebrate the end of a positive year that witnessed important company growth. There were three main metaphors for the event: high performing team (better collaboration among colleagues leaving individualism aside), out of comfort zone and new challenges (be ready to take on the new company goals together). Two days of “life onboard” in the Gulf of La Spezia for 53 guests with overnight stay onboard, preparing lunch and a Cooking Cup serving “spaghetti alla carbonara.” After a first meeting at the Hotel NH La Spezia, the group boarded the 7 sailboats and set sail for maneuver and regatta technique training, then participated in the first sailing regatta. They took a break for lunch in the natural harbor at the island of Palmaria, then sailed again to dock in the evening in Portovenere. Debriefing followed at the port to note the difficulties of the first day, some down time and showers, and then all hands ready for the Cooking Cup, which was carefree and less formal thanks to the great enthusiasm of the participants, particularly the EY partners.
The next morning, the second regatta was held and various aspects such as teamwork, trusting one’s teammates and motivation were honed…after all, the regatta is not won alone, but with teamwork!

Three days of events in the Venetian lagoon. The client, La Fabbrica, is company specialized in the production and commercialization of high-quality flooring and Italian ceramic surfaces. They invited their top English and Spanish clients.
The guests stayed over on the island of San Servolo in the heart of the lagoon halfway between the island of Venice and the Lido. The second day was dedicated to the sailing regatta that took place on three Meteors, 6-meter one-class boats, on the waters right in front of St. Mark’s Square. The awards were given to the 10 participants in the evening on the island, where a barbecue was specially organized for them.

The communications agency MCM Comunicazione commissioned a sailing regatta to Sailing Challenge in Viareggio for its client, The Boston Consulting Group, a high-profile managerial consulting company. The guests stayed over at the UNA Hotel Versilia. The event planned for the participation of a VIP testimonial meeting with Alex Bellini, an adventurist, speaker and mental coach, famous for having rowed across the Atlantic and for almost having rowed across the Pacific. The theme of the event was “Challenge & Ambition: how a team can help you reach success” with a focus on group and a sense of company belonging. Alex Bellini’s speech was centered on preparing for new challenges, ambition which leads one to take risks, and cognition of one’s own responsibilities, but success repaying all efforts and sacrifices made.The sailing regatta was undertaken with 7 sailboats leaving from the Viareggio port and the awards for participants and the winning team were given out at the Hotel Plaza e de Russie.

Event organized by Mars Italia Spa, a multinational agricultural and food company. The 11 participants were Italian vendors in the pet food and ethnic food sector for mass market retailers with its own area manager. Since this was a relatively new team with various levels of experience and seniority, the expectations were to get to know one another having fun and begin to acquire a sense of team. The guests arrived on the first day at the Scuola di Mare Santa Teresa in Lerici (SP) where they participated in a classroom meeting and a Cooking Cup at dinner with culinary team building in the school kitchen. The second day, after an overnight stay in the school’s rooms that face the magnificent Gulf of La Spezia, the participants boarded the two J24s for the sailing regatta.

Trelleborg Wheel Systems Spa chose Sailing Challenge again for its annual company event dedicated to Top Management and it was held on the unique island of Ponza. The company, one of the main international tire producers that provides highly-specialized wheel systems for agricultural, forestry and industrial machines, brought 21 Italian managers and executives from various business units. The event was mainly for entertainment and saw the group divided into 5 teams that took on four challenges set up to facilitate relations and better communication between participants: sailing quiz, treasure “fishing,” and two sailing regattas onboard two J24s, boats known for their “aggressiveness" and technology. Overcoming each challenge resulted in awarded points and that in turn established a winning team at the end of the day with awards given out during dinner.

Event commissioned by Carlson Wagonlit Travel for NGI SPA, an Italian telecommunications company that is leader in its sector of broadband and virtual hosting. The goals of the sailing event were to strengthen team play and teamwork while maintaining a recreational atmosphere in a three-day workshop with company accounts and sales partners. 31 guests were divided into crews the evening prior to the sailing event and each had dinner with their own skipper. This created a greater anticipation and competitive spirit which was positively carried over the next day during the regatta. The event closed with awards, where in addition to the winning sailboat, the most tenacious and carefree crews were honored.

BIRRA PERONI GROUP AT AMERICA’S CUP, NAPLES, 19-21 APRIL 2013
During the America’s Cup World Series 2012-2013, Sailing Challenge specially organized this event for Nastro Azzurro onboard a luxury caïque. The Italian company specializes in beer production and invited 90 of its distributors from Calabria, Campania and Lazio to Naples for an exclusive look at the regattas of the Neapolitan leg of the America’s Cup World Series 2012-2013. The event goal was to strengthen relations with clients. It took place over three days and saw Sailing Challenge offer complete services that ranged from hospitality at the Nastro Azzurro stand in the America’s Cup Village to the transfers to embark, from the coverage to the technical commentary of the regattas onboard the caïque. Each day, the caïque hosted the Sailing Challenge team and 30 Birra Peroni guests, navigating toward the regatta field amongst the splendid scenery of the gulf of Naples between Castel dell’Ovo and Posillipo where the two Luna Rossa catamarans took on other international crews, giving way to what would be the sneak peek into the America’s Cup held in San Francisco (California) in September 2013.

Part of the “Plan Italia 2013-2015,” a product placement plan that aimed to renew and enliven the Tuscan image in all areas of tourism, Sailing Challenge established for Toscana Promozione a press tour for 14 journalists specialized in leisure or conference tourism. The guests, fourteen opinion leaders from almost all areas of publication specializing in conference tourism and some from the most renowned leisure magazines, stayed at the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte and participated in a presentation workshop on Tuscan tourism opportunities on the evening of April 14th where important regional and local executives were also present. The next day, with an exclusion opportunity to “live” the Tuscan sea in an enthralling regatta, the journalists boarded two Sailing Challenge sailboats and tried out an exciting day sailing after an adequate briefing, accompanied by a skipper on each boat. Lunch at Una Hotel Versilia in Lido di Camaiore sealed the unforgettable day. IDISOLE TOUR
PORTO ERCOLE JULY 21-22, 2012 AND PUNTA ALA, JULY 28-29, 2012
The event was organized for the Italian section of Merck Sharp & Dhome, the oldest chemical-pharmaceutical company in the world, founded in 1668. It recently bought Idi Farmaceutici, a well-known Italian pharmaceutical company specialized in derma-cosmetic products.
The tour consisted of two legs, Porto Ercole and Punta Ala, each point with two days of a completely customized sailing boat. While sailing and then stopping in the most popular bays, the aim of the outing was to call the attention of people on the seaside and on boats while sailing, at roadsteads and inside harbors.
Afloat and ashore, on the seaside and inside harbors, 1 steward and 1 hostess gave people free samples of sun cream and printed invitations to do free skin checks on board with 2 Idisole consultants, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm each evening.
The tour’s aim was to: promote sun cream, build loyalty with customers, strengthen corporate identity and gain public approval.
The tour was a great success, with more than 7,000 free samples offered and more than 200 skin check-ups on board.
PERFETTI VAN MELLE
LIDO DI OSTIA ROME, JULY 2-3, 2012
The client was Perfetti Van Melle, an international company that produces and deals candies and chewing gums all over the world.
There were 47 participants, among whom internal employees, groups leaders and 35 sales reps (8 women and 39 men).
Teams were made including people with different roles and from different geographic areas; each team came up with its name from the most famous candies/chewing gums: Fruitella, Chupa Chups, Daygum, Golia, Vivident and Benegum and there was also a nice female team that won the Cooking Cup. The event aims were: having fun, motivation, highlighting values as team players, teamwork, leadership, rules and company role compliance. During the regatta, other ideas were highlighted such as: crew = group/sales force; individual aims = common aims; skipper = group leader; roles/rules on board = relationship and company rule compliance; team = giving up to private interests for common interest; goals = reaching established goals; effort on board = effort to reach goals with reliability and resolution.
On July 2nd, the fleet regatta was held and, at the end, participants were involved in another challenge: the Cooking Cup on board of sailing boats, which tested the crew’s creativity and ability. After the challenge and dinner, part of the group slept on board while the other part came back to the guests’ hotel.
INCENTIVE POWER for HITACHI
VENICE, MAY 18th, 2012 (during the America's Cup World Series)
The final client was Hitachi, a multinational Japanese company based in Tokyo that produces the following: electronics and electrical products, soil movement machines, railway buildings and nuclear reactors. Participants were all designers and partners of the company, 30-50 years old from the Venice area, and 4-5 Hitachi Sales Managers.
The event's aim was having fun and entertaining guests while consolidating relations with clients, an opportunity to have good time together, to enjoy an exclusive experience, to motivate, celebrate and build loyalty.
Participants were divided into 2 groups, 1 with 7 guests on board a rib had a tour of the ACWS team base and saw the team's catamarans in the Porto Arsenale while the other group of 18 people on board of 2 sailing boats did the regatta in the same area where the ACWS races would be held in the afternoon.
At 2:15 pm in pole position with boats and rib, guests had the opportunity to watch the ACWS regattas from the sea, very closed to the catamarans.

The event was organized for CBO, Central Booking Office, inside Una Hotels, founded in past years as only a booking center for private people.
The aim of the event was to: strengthen team spirit, increase group synergy and team work speed, highlight team play both with clients and Una Hotels service, underline leadership, spread knowledge, strengthen "corporate identity" and motivate.
Participants included 12 employees – 10 women and 2 men - who slept on board on March 31st and were involved in an exciting regatta near Portovenere the next morning.
SUNNY WAY for LUXOTTICA

The final client was Luxottica, leader in the luxury and sport sunglasses market, and participants were all 30-50 year old men coming from different Italian cities as well as abroad.
The event, requested by the Sales Manager, a skilled yachtsman, was a fun team builder. Tommaso Chieffi, famous yachtsman, was the testimonial speaker of the event during dinner held the evening before.
Guests reached La Maddalena on board 2 yachts and were divided into 2 groups: the first one divided in 2 got on board 30-foot race boats and had a match race regatta, while the second group rooted for their friends on board a 20-meter luxury boat able to host up to 20 people. At the end of the light lunch, the crew switched so all participants had the opportunity to do a regatta on board the 2 fun race boats.
DETS - DYNAMIC EVENTS TEST SHOW

The promotional event by Dynamic Events, to whom Sailing Challenge belonged and of which Oliviero Cappuccini is President, was organized in collaboration with Florence Convention Bureau and Toscana Promozione.
In this Test Show – unique for its size and complexity in Italian meeting & incentive industry history – the 10 Dynamic Events partner companies had a lead role. These companies provide special services for corporate events in Italy and abroad. They offered their expertise to an high number of selected buyers, who had the possibility to directly test a wide range of unique, reliable and qualified solutions for dynamic events.
An event involving three areas, in this case Florence, Siena and Versilia, had never occurred in Italy before on the same days and in so vast an area.
There were more or less 200 participants, of which 150 corporate and agency buyers, hosted by the Florence Convention Bureau in 5 important hotels (all near Piazza Ognissanti, the event's center). There was a very good evaluation about the event's organization and format.
Each buyer directly tested 7 of 10 services offered by Dynamic Events: 4 of them were tested by all (the Eurotend tensil structure and the Modo Promotion hospitality truck, used as a reception, welcome & hospitality desk, coffee station and briefing area, in addition to the special lighting by Alf Service and Power Point presentation of services for events in the mountains by Mountain Team), plus 3 other services selected among 6: a vintage motor vehicle tour (HR Tours), a visit to inaccessible and still hidden treasures (IF- Italy's Finest), a Ferrari tour (Red Travel), dragon boat races (Dragon Boat Experience), events with quads (Quad Incentive) and sailing regattas (Sailing Challenge).

The client was Sweden & Martina, leader in dental products manufacturing and distribution for more than 30 years. 72 guests, most of whom were men aged 45 years and more, were all Italian surgeons, university professors, opinion leaders, speakers and also company employees like Area Managers, Product Specialists, best Sales, executive floor. They all decided by themselves to take part in the regatta.
The aims of the event were: entertainment, amaze in order to strengthen relationships with opinion leaders, motivate and let all be part of a group.
Guests reached San Giorgio Island, where 6 boats were moored, on board a typical pirate-like galleon. Here, the first group got off and embarked on sailing boats. The galleon, after a lagoon tour, stopped on open sea to let guests view their friends' regatta once the training phase was through. During lunch on board the galleon, the crew switched and the second regatta was held. Finally, a prize ceremony was held.

The event was organized to entertain the 50 best Italian dealer owners and let them have fun; it was indeed a gift to those who reached important turnover goals in 2010. New Fiat Market Italia management also attended the event.
During the gala dinner that closed the event, dealers participated in a new Fiat Freemont auto presentation inside the wonderful Borgo Egnazia Hotel & Spa.
100 guests divided into 2 groups alternating between morning and afternoon in 2 exciting official regattas with 6 12-14 meter boats, 2 ribs for assistance, which hosted photographers, and a catamaran as a committee boat.
A sunny day with quite strong wind gave all participants strong emotions and an unforgettable memory.
TRELLEBORG WHEEL SYSTEMS
PUNTA ALA – ELBA ISLAND, SEPTEMBER 8-11th, 2010
The client was Trelleborg Wheel Systems Spa, one of the most important tire producers in the world that supplies highly qualified solutions for farm, forest and industrial machines.
There were 17 participants, all male and 35-60 years old, belonging to different business units: President, HR, Sales, IT, Logistics, R&D, Controllers and all Italian managers and executives. The event was not meant to be a team builder but rather a 3-day fun, challenging event – it's an annual event – with the aim to strengthen the group and let participants learn to sail as well as possible. The name of the event was "Sailing to Elba, September 2010" because once they left Punta Ala, the participants on the 2 boats enjoyed sailing training, some match race regattas and sleeping on board in ports or roadsteads, finally reaching Portoazzurro. There, participants were involved in a Cooking Cup on board, and then arrived in Marciana Marina, where they saw the beautiful Procchio Gulf from a restaurant near the sea, before returning to Punta Ala the next morning.
SIMMETRIA for BANCA ESPERIA
VENICE, MAY 15th, 2010
The final client was Banca Esperia, a company specialized in private banking services, born from a joint venture between Mediobanca and Mediolanum. Simmetria was the first agency that proposed Dynamic Events' multidisciplinary format to its client. Participants, divided into 6 teams, had to choose from the following on the evening before the activities: A- dragon boat, 17 people on each canoe for a total of 102 people; B- sailing, 9 people on each boat for a total of 54 (6 boats with customized flags and adhesive numbers); C- game "discover Venice", 10 people on each team for a total of 60 people. Each of the 6 teams named one photographer who had to challenge the others in capturing the best image. As stated in the guidelines, a score was assigned according to the results of each challenge and the total score of the 3 activities and photography challenge indicated the overall winner. Team winners of each activity also received gifts of crystal carved medals. On board was company top management, 75% male and 30-50 years old, all Italians and at different levels. The aim of the event was to strengthen "corporate identity" and motivate, while highlighting values such as game play, leadership and teamwork.
A WORLD OF EVENTS for EURONICS
PORTOVENERE, SEPTEMBER 18-19th, 2010
The final client was Euronics, one of the most important chains of electronic devices and household electrical appliance dealers. 46 participants were mostly Italian company employees and some top managers: 70% male and 30% female, 40-50 years old.
The aim of the event was to facilitate networking, while highlighting values such as game play and leadership, strengthening corporate identity and reaching total agreement.
On September 18th, there was a match race regatta between 3 groups of analogous boats (with customized adhesive numbers). On the 19th, there was a match race just between the winners of the previous challenges on board 2 analogous 45-foot race boats, with an entertaining live report made by one of our skippers to allow all guests on the Royal Sporting Hotel roof be part of the challenge.
The winning team received a wrought iron handmade, sail-shaped trophy.
THEORIA for GOOGLE
BARCOLANA – TRIESTE, OCTOBER 10-11th, 2009
5 Google top clients and 3 Google top managers attended a half professional regatta called Barcolana. Every year, the regatta faces off more than 2,000 sailing boats of varying types and length, and involves approximately 25,000 yachtsmen. It was the first Sailing Challenge event that was part of such a famous and very international sailing event. In agreement with the client, the chosen boat preferred security over speed, so it was a very big, heavy and solid one. On the first day, guests were briefed with the Sailing Challenge skipper and co-skipper and then had 2 hours of training with dinner following on board. On Sunday morning, the regatta started at 10:00 am. For all yachtsmen attending, Barcolana is one of the most extraordinary experiences in the world because being on the starting line with 2,000 boats is a great emotion; the sea becomes a mat of sails and you can see boats coming out from everywhere in every moment… The group reached a very good placement in the middle of the final rank, a great result for a non-professional team with little competence considering as well the type of boat chosen!

Client was Acea Electrabel SPA, leader in the electric and energy market.
Participants were 116 Business Industrial clients, mostly Italian with some foreigners. There was a company sales rep on each boat together with clients and their partners, some of whom brought children.
Key words of the event were: energy, versatility, competence, challenge, quality, harmony and game play. After the two fleet regattas, the two winners had a Match Race final regatta on board two analogous boats.
HEVENTO GROUP for LA ROCHE-POSAY, MY SKIN CHECK TOUR
SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE, CASTIGLIONE DELLA PESCAIA, SAN FELICE DEL CIRCEO, GALLIPOLI, LIGNANO SABBIADORO, RIMINI, JUNE-JULY 2009
The aim of the event was to reach an high visibility while having safe free check-ups on board a completely customized sailing boat, at disposal from 9:00 am on Saturday to 8:00 pm on Sunday. For that reason, the seaside was chosen to reach visibility while harbors, known for afternoon and evening strolls, were chosen for check-up activities.
The tour was structured in 6 consecutive weekends from June 13th to July 19th and sailing was selected because it represents freedom, nature and health.
MY SKIN CHECK project was a skin cancer prevention and awareness program on UV sun rays protection campaign. It was just an info and prevention program. The client wanted to promote their sun cream products while doing a social prevention activity where it could take data collected during the six legs to skin cancer studies.
Inside a 4x4, highly visible gazebo in all the marinas, hostesses booked check-up visits and handed out free samples and leaflets.
The final result went beyond expectations, with more than 1,000 people seen.
GRUPPO FONEMA for ENEL
HVAR, CROAZIA, MAY 22nd, 2009
Our contact was Fonema S.p.A. of Rome and the final client was ENEL S.p.A., the biggest Italian electric company. The sailing event was organized in occasion of their SALES CORPORATE CONVENTION in Hvar from May 19th to 21st.
Participants were all Italian Enel employees, internal and external collaborators and top managers, male and female aged 35-45 years old. The goals of the event were game play, leadership, teamwork, to spread know-how, to strengthen corporate identity, to motivate participants, to highlight values such as importance of being a leader called to decide roles, personal liability, how to react to crisis and what solutions to take under pressure.
The testimonial speaker of the event was Paul Cayard, who highlighted some metaphors between sailing boats and the corporate field during briefing and debriefing.
There were 170 guests divided into 2 groups; in the morning, the first group had the regatta while the second one had a Jeep Tour, then the 2 groups had lunch together and switched between the 2 activities. The fleet regatta involved 11 33-35 foot boats called Salona, with 4 ribs for assistance and 1 committee boat.

The client was Loro Piana, main sponsor of "Tre Golfi" regatta, also known as the Loro Piana Trophy, that was held in Capri from May 24th through the 31st. Participants were 18 journalists (directors, editors-in-chief, editors, etc…), 30-40 years old, from foreign and Italian newspapers, mainly dealing with luxury clothing.
The exciting half-day regatta ended with a light lunch offered by Loro Piana near its stand in port.
CARLSON WAGONLIT for ERICSSON
MAY 9-11th, 2008
The participants included: 83 top clients and important Italian opinion leaders, most of them with their partners, 80% Italian and 20% foreign (there were also some famous people such as Bruno Vespa and Enrico Mentana). The aim of the event was a mix of business and leisure for top clients, opinion leaders and politicians regarding a new vision on the future of television and roles that TV operators, Ericsson and establishments are supposed to have.
Each morning and afternoon, two groups left Portofino and reached Santa Margherita Ligure, one on board of an Ericsson E1 boat and the other on a 45-foot race boat called Sleeker; once in Santa Margherita Ligure, teams switched between the 2 boats and then came back to Portofino.
Ericsson gave their guests the opportunity to test its completely customized 70-foot E1 boat that took part in the Volvo Ocean Race in 2005-2006 (one of the most important and challenging international sailing events).

The final client was Comcavi, a company that produces electrical and telephone cables based in Naples. 50 participants included its best clients with partners and children, 60% male and 40% female.
Each day, after a welcome cocktail and lunch on board of 2 luxury yachts with 3 crew members each, guests sailed off to watch America's Cup regattas and to come close to Alinghi and New Zealand boats.

Il cliente finale era Banca Popolare di Vicenza con i suoi direttori di filiale e/o commerciali del Triveneto e della Lombardia, tutti italiani, 85 persone tra i 30 e i 50 anni.
Il 25 maggio sera il gruppo ha potuto effettuare, in via esclusiva, la visita alla base del team Mascalzone Latino, ed ha potuto quindi incontrare alcuni atleti, mentre il 26 si è svolta la regata amatoriale tra le 10 imbarcazioni, con 2 gommoni di appoggio.
STARHOTELS

The client was Starhotels, one of the most important Italian hotel chains, and 48 participants were top clients (travel managers and event planners, 20% from agencies and 80% companies that organize congresses and events), of whom 40 Italian and 8 foreign.
The aim of the event was to entertain and build loyalty with clients utilizing a very unique and fun experience. For that reason, crew members included one hotel director or Starhotels manager and sales rep and 7 clients.
Challenging sea and weather conditions making for a beautiful sight, strong emotions and a lot of fun. A prize ceremony and partying continued in Starhotels President Hotel of Genova.
